Baby Maverick Noble has arrived! (a peek at my birthing Journey)

I am blessed and excited to share the news and experience of the arrival of our first born son, Maverick Noble, born naturally by Mommy Misty Jame on January 10th at 6:46pm with the wonderful support of Daddy Shane. 8 hours of loving labor brought the birth of a perfectly healthy baby weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches tall~

As my 41st week of pregnancy was coming to an end the excitement and anticipation was growing stronger and more curious. I called my close friend Colette late at night and told her how ready I was to meet my baby boy. We had a long nice conversation ending with a silly story that had us both laughing intensely for minutes. This strong laughter just so happened to initiate a strong contraction! The night continued and so did those contractions! It was so sweet how a great laugh with a great friend led to the beginning of my sweet journey. Shane and I went to bed and tried to get some rest as we excitedly waited for the contractions to get stronger and closer. We  were home resting and cuddling with our daughter Juniper until 11:30am the following morning. Grandma Sheila came over and watched Juniper while Shane and I headed to the hospital to bring Maverick into this world.

It seemed as if we entered our own little world once we went into the birthing room. Shane and I flowed seamlessly through the contractions one after the other. He had a calm excited energy with him as he held my hand and talked me through each one. His forehead leaned against mine as he softly told me cute stories from our past together, led me through cute journeys about things we will do with the kids together, and he even sang sweetly to me while I kneeled in the shower holding his hand. The steadiness and consistency in his voice gave me something very solid to hold onto while I was contracting and helped me stay present in the moment. He guided me into different positions encouraging me to stay active. We walked back and forth in the room together slowly in what seemed to be a very special slow dance inviting our son.  We stayed in this sacred state together, just us two, for about 8 hours. The energy in that room was so special, and Shane was so wonderful, he had me smiling and laughing in between contractions. At the last hour of this journey our wonderful Doctor Francis Chang joined us in the room and guided us through the intense contractions that led us to Maverick's arrival. I birthed Maverick while on my hands and knees. As I pushed with all of my life force my water broke and shortly after this baby began to crown. I was guided by Dr. Chang as I pushed. He led me through a process of pushing and pausing to allow the baby to naturally stretch me to avoid ripping. Although this process was a bit uncomfortable I am so very thankful for his gentle guidance as it was effective. Before I knew it baby Maverick was here, I did it, we made it to the other side!

I was so filled with the sweetest Love as I held my new baby, with Shane happily by my side. My dreams are blooming and coming into fruition right in front of my eyes as I keep present in each new step of life. I am amazed and blessed! We headed home the very next day and I was thrilled to be in my cozy home with both of my beautiful children, daughter and son. I am melting into motherhood all over again and looking forward to the rest of my life as Mommy Misty Jame to both Juniper Jame and Maverick Noble~

P.s. Mommas! Here is the link to the awesome Doctor Chang's website! If you are birthing in the Los Angeles area I highly recommend him to anyone! He is the best, was fully supportive of my natural birth, allowed me to be free of any IV's or monitors, and completely accommodated my wants and needs.
