Lather the belly, love your body, avoid those stretch marks!

Hi Mommas! I am just about 40 weeks into my second pregnancy now awaiting the arrival of my babyboy and have successfully avoided stretch marks once again! I am blessed, thrilled, and eager to share my way of achieving this!

LATHER THAT BELLY!

I lather my belly at any moment I even see any oils. If i'm in the kitchen and come across my coconut oil you can guarantee there will be a big scoop of it lathered onto my belly. When I'm putting my Jojoba oil into my hair after my shower it also gets massaged onto my sweet baby belly. Natural testers while out at the grocery stores, sure why not!

Besides all of the random lathering throughout the day my main product of use which I believe to be the Magic of it all is the wonderful thick and creamy slave made by Colette Elaine. She makes this salve in small batches from her sacred home in Austin TX with all natural herbs and simple ingredients. The result is always a thick, creamy, subtle natural scented salve that leaves a nice thick coat of hydration on my belly. It feels soothing and reassuring as it continues to hydrate my belly throughout the day as it doesn't immediately sink into the skin. My skin gets immediate relief from feeling any stretching or itching and I can relax comfortably into my day. I massage this onto my skin twice a day, first thing in the morning and right before bed. Check out her site and contact her to place and order at http://www.colettelaine.com/

STAY HYDRATED

Along with all of the lathering throughout the day I am always mindful and active about staying hydrated. Just as we keep our skin moisturized externally we must keep our skin and body moisturized internally too. I drink plenty of water morning, day, and night. Water is my favorite drink and my body and skin are thankful.

MAKE IT A RITUAL

Massaging, oiling, and caring for your body should be a sacred and special time for yourself. I massage my whole body daily with oils and salves after each shower and massage my belly for a second time each night. Even postpartum while wrapping my belly I do lots of self massage and lather up with salves and oils to help it heal gently. My one year old daughter Juniper gets a coconut oil massage after each bath too and she absolutely loves it! She also loves rubbing oils onto mommy's big belly!

GET YOUR PARTNER INVOLVED

Having Shane rub my belly with oils has definitely helped keep us close and connected throughout the growth of my baby and my belly. It helps to have him take a moment out of his day to just focus on me and the baby. It is sweet moments like these that leave me feeling loved, reassured, and keep the intimacy strong between us.

Good luck Mommas, comment and let me know what works for you!
