Here's how it works:

The Owlet baby monitor is a smart technology device that is worn atop a comfy sock for your sweet baby's little foot. The Owlet comes with 3 different sock sizes so your baby can keep wearing the monitor as they grow, up until about 18 months old! The device monitoring your baby uses pulse oximetry which is the same technology used and trusted by almost every hospital! Rest on that!

The device sock connects via bluetooth to the base station. The base station is the white circle shown in the picture below. This station plugs into the wall in your room and is designed to sound an alert if the baby's vitals fall out of range. There is a consistent pulsing green light on the base station which lets you know at a glance that everything is good with your baby. If the station blinks yellow, check to see if the sock has come loose from babies foot. When blinking red, along with the alert sound, you are being signaled because there is a concern with your child's heart rate or oxygen levels.

Another feature which makes Owlet even more convenient and reassuring is the Owlet App that is downloadable on your phone. This app connects to the base station and shows your baby's oxygen level and heart rate in real time on your phone screen! Now when I wake up concerned for baby Maverick I can glance quickly at my phone screen instead of getting out of bed to check on him. Overall this monitor system has been simple, effective, and reassuring! I had a few initial issues trying to connect the base station to my phone however the help section in the app was very thorough and helped me resolve this quickly.
